Because of Father’s Day, our Summer Sing-out schedule featured just one performance, but it was a meaningful one as we returned to Brookdale Presbyterian Church. This marks the second consecutive year that New Generation Singers has spent Father’s Day with this wonderful congregation, and it is quickly becoming a tradition we look forward to each summer.
Returning to Brookdale brought back some fun memories from last year, including the gentleman who walked around passing out candy before the service. It is those little moments and personal touches that make a church feel so welcoming. From the time we arrived until the final note was sung, the congregation once again made us feel right at home.
Brookdale has a long connection to New Generation Singers, with both current and former members of the group calling this church family. It is always special to perform in places where the audience understands the impact of the ministry because they have seen it firsthand through the lives of students and alumni. The energy in the room was fantastic, and the congregation’s encouragement was felt throughout the performance.
We are grateful for the continued support of Brookdale Presbyterian Church and the many wonderful people who attend there. Their kindness, enthusiasm, and commitment to supporting young people make this a stop we are always excited to make on our Summer Sing-out journey.
