We ended up going to Macon, GA by a complete accident. Bemo had one more stop left to book for tour, and he enlisted me to help him reach out to churches in the Tallahassee area. He took the Georgia side, and I took the Florida side. Bemo ended up finding some church directory and started sending emails and didn’t realize that one of them was located all the way up in Macon.
What this means is that we follow today’s very long ride with the shortest drive of tour. In addition to that very short ride, we also gain an hour as we cross back into the Central time zone. This is not exactly optimal trip planning. But, it did end up getting us connected to a really cool church that really loved on us.
It was also our first and only host home night of tour. On tours past, the kids get to be pros at getting ready for host homes. Since they haven’t had that practice, the sponsors had to be a little more clear about what is expected at a host home. Don’t go out with other teenagers that might live in the house, don’t start rummaging through their fridge, DO leave a cross behind and make the bed!
The congregation loved it, and they were so excited to get to take a few of them home. It’s so cool to watch as the singers from from just ordinary kids invading their church to celebreties in the course of an hour and a half.
So, they should all be snug as a bug in their host homes now, and I’m going to enjoy a little time in a hotel where I don’t have to worry about room checks.
Signing off from Macon –
Joseph
