Wagoner, OK. Day 14.
I’m going to keep it short and sweet tonight, folks. We are on the penultimate day of tour, and today was quite a way to spend our last performance on the road.
I have been to a lot of churches with New G on tour, but I can honestly say that I have NEVER been to a church that was this excited about our arrival. When the busses pulled up to the church, volunteers poured out of the building with hugs and smiles, all of them wearing matching shirts with our logo embossed on the back. When we walked in there was a goodie bag for each of the singers with our tour logo printed on the bags. These guys really went all out.
The performance reflected the level of love that the kids felt from the church. Bemo says that in some performances the singers just “won’t be denied”. This was one of those. There were tears from the kids right away with Garrison’s opening dialogue. They were deeply moved and that emotion poured out to the congregation.
After the benediction we divvyed up the girls to different host homes, and the boys all got bussed over to a rec center where the church has volleyball, foosball, you name it. We told them to be in bed before midnight…Good Lord, I hope they listen…
You have so much reason to be proud of these amazing young people, I know I sure am!
See you tomorrow…
Joseph
