Disney.
Need I say more? Sam Porter rode 25 rides, and he is the reigning champion. I didn’t hear of any kids riding that many. What really struck me was how serious the singers got before the excursion. Some were planning for days. There were entire committees and subcommittees dedicated to mapping out exactly how they would spend their days. And I’m not kidding. I walked up on a group of boys in the hotel one night and got a curt, “We’re having a meeting right now.”
Well… Ok.
I didn’t ride a ton of rides, often because Emily and I spent a lot of the afternoon trying to strategically place ourselves so we were easily accessible when a singer would text Emily complaining about a headache and we would then lecture them about not drinking enough water and give them some pain reliever. But by and large, everyone came out with a ton of great memories, a lot of fun, and even more sun.
Emily and I did go on It’s a small world. And at the risk of getting perpetually ribbed my Matt and Sam – it was my favorite ride of the day. Say what you want about Disney, but they spent millions of dollars on a ride that does nothing but celebrate world cultures and what binds us together. If you haven’t done it before, it just a bunch of animatronic dolls singing “It’s a Small World” over and over in hundreds of different languages, and for being so simplistic, it was shockingly intricate and beautiful, and painfully over-the-top Disney. It was HUGE. In a building the size of a St. Joseph city block. I just felt grateful to live in a world where people can enjoy each other gratuitously.
Hey, Joseph… Enough with the syrupy nonsense. They don’t care about that, just tell them about the day, dude.
Anyway, by the time 11 p.m. rolled around we were all ready to fall asleep where we were standing. I don’t know how many kids I had to tell not to fall asleep on the concrete in front of God and everybody.
But, we’re home and sleeping now (I hope!). Off to New Birth Church tomorrow in Murrieta, CA to perform in their Sunday Service.

Tour Day 11 – Prescott AZ to Holbrook AZ
Hey Guys! Joseph again. Sorry the last couple of days have been so short and sweet, I’ve been tired! And the singers have been also. It has been a while since we went this direction (2015 to be exact), and I had forgotten how long the bus rides are. It’s tiring just...
Tour Day 10 – Anaheim CA to Prescott AZ
