Prelude to Easter

We’d like to tell you more about our concert on March 29th and the groups that will be performing.

Kindred Spirit – is a four member vocal ensemble, made up of two sets of brothers and sisters. We love to sing together and praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Kindred Spirit really began back at Northwest Missouri State University when Brice, Crystal, Gretchen, and Justin sang a special at the Edgerton Christian Church. This sparked an interest in continuing to sing together, but we needed a name. We discussed names for our quartet over a game of Pitch. Kindred Spirit became our name based on two truths. Number one, we are “Kindred”, we’re all related! Number two, we are “Spirit” as we are all followers of Jesus Christ. We are now in our fourth year of being an officially quartet. We are looking forward to more to come for Kindred Spirit!

Kanto – Founded in 2014, Kanto is a small men’s ensemble from the St. Joseph/Kansas City area that performs an eclectic range of music. The members are comprised of musicians from varying backgrounds and professions. The ensemble works to support local philanthropic organizations by raising money through benefit concerts. Please go to and “like” their Facebook page. Members: Shaun Agnew, Chris Alexander, Paul Hart, Brian Hartman, Jacob Mills, Bemo Myers, B.J. Myers, Stephen Rew and Brian Von Glahn.

The New Generation Singers – Founded in 1970 by Byron Myers Sr. at Wyatt Park Christian Church, is celebrating its 45th year. Now under the direction of Byron Jr (Bemo), the singers continue to perform in the St. Joseph area and take an annual tour across country. Their tour destination this year is Southern California. The current singers are excited to include alumni in this special Easter Sermon in Song.

Thank you for being here tonight. Your purchase of a ticket and other financial support from tonight will be used to continue the mission of New G. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and at www.ngsingers.com as we head into our summer Sing-Outs and annual tour.
