I mentioned in the blog post yesterday the stark and inhospitable beauty of Eastern Utah, and I think that nowhere else exemplifies this more than Moab, UT. I kept expecting to come across as cowboy in a 5 gallon hat hunting an outlaw named Rufus who was hiding down in the gulch. It was everything you might expect: desert full of cactus and sage and red rock formations worn by sand and wind into contortions that shouldn’t be able to happen in nature, but alas, there they were.
What really struck me was how much life there was. In Missouri we take it for granted that everything is lush and green and, I don’t know about you, but if my grass turns any kind of brown any kind of sensibility I have about water conservation flies out the window. But here, in a place that looks more like the surface of Mars than the surface of Earth, there is still tons of life thriving in the only place it has ever known. All kinds of trees and flowers, the tallest of which is about three or four feet, and stuff that just can’t grow in Missouri.
Life is funny that way. When it is tough, you adapt and make a way. One of the things that I love about tour is that New G is all about bringing life where people are making a way, but they just need a drink. New G works hard to bring that drink. But our kids and the sponsors get the benefit of working hard to find life also. Tonight we went to the church in Las Vegas that Bemo worked hard to book, and at the last minute they had to cancel because of a Covid scare. But did WE cancel? Absolutely not – we did what New G does. We made life where it shouldn’t be, and we gave it our all whether to a group of two (which is how many people from the church were there) or to a group of hundreds, which is what we had on our live stream.
Folks, it was a LONG bus ride today from Moab to Las Vegas, and it was HOT. I could feel the air conditioner on the bus struggling to keep up. But, we adapted. The singers reached deep and gave a great performance. I hope you all got to see the live stream, and if you didn’t you can still catch it on our Facebook page.

Today we started at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Helena, MT. This was our morning performance, and it was yet another performance that the singers while beginning to show signs of being tired, was really able to turn it on. We couldn't be prouder of them....
Tour Day 8 – Helena, MT – St. Paul United Methodist Church
Today was a long drive from Bonners Ferry, ID, all the way to Helena MT. We started where we had an option for a fancy breakfast at the hotel. However I am not sure the hotel staff was prepared for what it takes for our group to come through in the morning, so some...
