Today started with a bit more sleep than we normally get when we head back the way we are we generally loose enough time we have to get up super early. Since today was a journey to Mt. Rushmore, we were able to get loaded at 9AM to head there. When we asked how many in the group that had seen Mt. Rushmore you could see that was more than half of the group.
The singers where able to have a lot of time to walk around the entire area. So they were able to stop and take pictures, and enjoy the nature trail. The best part of the nature trail is that you can see Mt. Rushmore from many different angles, as well as find out the history of the process to create a national image. They even had time to find out other history from a tribe nation about the area as well.
After we were done at Mt. Rushmore we went into Keystone for Lunch and some shopping for souvenirs for the kids go get to take home. You could tell they enjoyed their moment in the touristy area as they returned to the bus.
We arrived back at the camp where we setup for a performance and the camp site provided us a lunch as well, so that was great to save the singers some money! It was a great performance for the local audience. As well as we had an Alumni come and join us for the show, and in Keystone. We were so grateful to see her!.
Then the kids shared a great moment back at the campground where they enjoyed a fire up near the sponsor rooms, and and created a great memory that I am sure they will remember forever.
The excitement continues for homecoming, and we hope to see you all there, get your tickets!
