Thanks to the efforts of Dan Madinger (former sponsor and long-time truck driver), New G was selected to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns* during this year’s tour. As you can imagine, this is a huge honor, especially since only one ceremony is performed each day and Dan was able to coordinate it with a day New G would be in D.C.

Hopefully you are on FaceBook so that you can see the many pictures and videos of New G at Arlington. In the meantime, Matt Paden has created a wonderful video which compiles video from several sources – including a GoPro in Bemo’s left hand! Also watch close and you’ll that the wreath has “New Generation Singers – St. Joseph Missouri” printed on the blue ribbon.

Only four representatives can actually place the wreath. The four are New G president Jackson Connors, vice president Olivia Sweiger, Bemo and sponsor Joseph Howell who is still active in the military and was in his dress uniform.

Here is a link to the video. And be sure to see more on FaceBook.

*The tomb is also known as the Tomb of the Unknowns because there are actually three soldiers buried at the memorial. The history is a bit confusing, but very interesting. Here are two of the sites I looked at, among many, that describe the history and meaning. Facts About the Tomb and Arlington Tours.
