Tour Day 13 – Sandusky OH – Cedar Point!
Cedar Point. It seems like we come here every couple of years (in the last 5 years we have been here 3 times). So, for the sponsors there really isn’t a ride most of us haven’t been on twice. With that frequency, you can imagine some of the magic has faded. That is,…
Tour Day 12 – Travel Day from Huntingdon, PA to Sandusky OH
So, we are now in Sandusky, OH prepping for our day in Cedar Point tomorrow. I am confident that I will have loads to say about that excursion. But today… not so much. We drove a lot. We went to dinner. We checked in the hotels. That’s about it. It’s just one of…
Tour Day 11 – Oasis of Love, Raystown Lake – Seven Points Amphitheater
Tour 2023 is over half-way complete boys and squirrels! It never seems real. Both singers and sponsors spend an entire year prepping for tour just to have it flit away. I honestly feel like it just started. Everyone had spent the weeks and months before tour making…
Tour Day 10 – New York, New York – Huntingdon, PA @ Oasis of Love Church
Leaving New York City is kind of a surreal experience. In the morning we were holding up traffic and dodging pedestrians trying to get our suitcases loaded on the bus, and not an hour out of the city we were flying by corn fields. The contrast was jarring. Getting off…
Tour Day 9 – Church and Sites with Bemo in NYC
There are probably quite a few of you who don’t know that I (Joseph, again) retired from the Army after 22 years. You can imagine that I have done some pretty grueling work in my day. I’ve carried very heavy rucksacks for many many miles at a time, I once went three…
Tour Day 8 – New York City – Broadway Show New York New York
I love the city. I know, I know, it’s not an opinion that is held by all. Especially, those of us that had a choice to live somewhere other than Saint Joseph but chose the city bountiful anyway. I’m one of those people (Emily and I actually live in Kansas City) but…
Tour Day 7 – Huntingdon, PA to New York, New York
NEW YORK, NEW YORK! Of course the highlight of this tour is the thing that everyone has been talking about – The City that NEVER sleeps, The Big Apple, The one place that should never make salsa, NEW YORK CITY!!!!!! It’s today folks! Today was a day full of oohs and…
Tour Day 6 – Buffalo, NY – To Oasis of Love in PA
So, I’ve spent a good chunk of this blog dedicated to the contributions and exploits of Paul Lintern. One of the coolest things about New G is that relationships are formed as we come across people who are of like mind and spirit, and Paul is of course one of those….
Tour Day 5 – Buffalo NY to Niagara Falls NY
One of the best parts of tour are the unplanned moments; unwritten, if you will. You may remember me talking about our friendship with Paul Lintern. Well, today Paul was helping add to the mission of tour all the way out here in Buffalo. He worked out a deal with some…
Tour Day 4 – Mansfield, OH to Baker Memorial UMC in East Aurora NY
If there is a “routine” day on tour today, was it. Up in the morning to get picked up from our host families, scrambling to get all the suitcases and sleeping bags loaded up, and rolling out of Mansfield, OH on our way to Buffalo, NY. But, of course, no day on tour is…
